Amendments to the Heavy Vehicle National Law are due to commence in mid-2018. The proposed amendments are intended to align the heavy vehicle laws with the Work Health and Safety legislation. Expected amendments will include the introduction of a primary duty requiring all parties in the chain of responsibility to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of that party's transport activities, the introduction of an executive officer due diligence obligations, broader powers for enforcement officers, and increased penalties for non-compliance.

This seminar will be by way of a facilitated panel discussion that will provide an overview of the impending changes and practical tips on what you can do now to achieve compliance. Our panel will consist of:

  • Paul Endycott, Principal Consultant, Zenergy Group
  • Phil Brooks, Chief Inspector, Stakeholder Relations Manager, NSW Police Force, Traffic & Highway Patrol
  • Delston Chislett, Supply Chain Director, Accolade Wines
  • John Makris, Partner, K&L Gates

If you have heavy vehicles operate in your workplace, then you need to be aware of these changes and the practical steps you can take to comply.

A light breakfast will be provided. Please RSVP here.
