Washington, D.C., - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes intellectual property litigation partner Susan M. Kayser in the Washington, D.C., office. She joins K&L Gates from Jones Day.

Kayser provides IP litigation and counseling services to international brands and start-ups on trademark, advertising, and copyright matters. She has obtained permanent injunctions and damage awards on behalf of clients in trademark, counterfeit, and copyright matters throughout the United States, as well as on complex e-commerce contributory infringement claims. In addition, she litigates and defends against Lanham Act false advertising claims, counsels clients on global product launches and advertising campaigns, and leads IP due diligence teams for global brand acquisitions.

“With her in-depth intellectual property litigation and trademark experience, Susan complements our leading IP practice throughout the world,” said J. K&L Gates’ intellectual property litigation practice serves clients around the world, protecting critical fundamental client assets, iconic brands, and proprietary information, as well as emerging technologies such as novel drug therapies and cloud services. With litigators on four continents devoted to patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, the group handles every scale of dispute, from large, complex multi-jurisdiction matters and bet-your-company confrontations between industry leaders, to litigation involving non-practicing entities, to modest license dispute and piracy matters.

Kayser’s arrival follows the March addition of another IP litigation partner, C.J. Fahy, in Chicago.
