K&L Gates Advises LABORIE Medical Technologies on Acquisition of Cogentix Medical, Inc.

New York - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP represented LABORIE Medical Technologies, a global manufacturer and developer of medical technology for gastrointestinal and pelvic health owned by Patricia Industries, a part of Investor AB, on the $214 million acquisition of Cogentix Medical, Inc., a global medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures, and markets products for flexible endoscopy and the treatment of overactive bladder and female stress urinary incontinence.

The acquisition, which closed April 23, consisted of LABORIE purchasing all outstanding shares of common stock of Cogentix pursuant to a public tender offer followed by a second step merger.

New York private equity partner James C.H. Lee led the K&L Gates team that advised LABORIE on the acquisition with support from Chicago corporate partners Mark McMillian and Brent Williams; Charleston corporate partner Andrew Lloyd; Pittsburgh and New York banking and asset finance partner Vanessa Spiro; and New York private equity counsel Jae Park.
