K&L Gates and the Managed Funds Association (MFA) are hosting an engaging roundtable discussion on current trends in mergers and acquisitions of investment managers. We will focus on the market drivers for these transactions, such as the need for accelerated growth, the desirability of economies of scale, enhancing distribution capabilities, and the ability to offer a more diversified product set. We will also discuss the types of attributes that acquirers are looking for, how investment managers can best position themselves for sale and transaction structures, including joint ventures, lift-outs, and seeding platforms.
